Vintage Sneakers

I’ve been on this vintage sneaker kick for the past couple years since I saw a pair of vintage inspired Nikes at J. Crew. Since then I’ve seen many of the styles I wore in the 90’s coming back. Vans, adidas and reebok all seem to be bringing back classic styles from generations before. I want them all. I want the blue Nike pegasus from J. Crew but I can’t swallow the price tag. I get that it’s J. Crew but I’ve never spend more than a hundred dollars on a pair of shoes. Mostly because I won’t be using them as anything more then a casual shoe worn with jeans or shorts. A weekend shoe at most.

I was at Platos Closet by my house the other day, as I pop it from time to time to look at the shoes and maybe pick up a shirt or two, and I found a pair of adidas Orion’s. At first look I thought they looked cheap but after trying them on I fell in love with them. They were only 22.00 dollars. They are white canvas with blue stripes. They are very casual, I wore them with a pair of jeans and a blazer to dinner over the weekend. Three people commented on the combo. Today I paired them with a t-shirt and a pair of H&M shorts.

I don’t know if my new found love for them is reminiscence of my carefree teens or if they are just timeless. I guess it’s a little of both.

I plan on buying the Nike pegasus from J. Crew at some point in the near future, but until then these adidas Orion’s will have to do.
